Eric byrnes puts hand lotion in his hair...WEIRD!!!!!! How could you like him, man? Why do you like him?

Just off the top of my head:

1)He never dogs it. I trust him to always give his best every game.

2)He always wants to get better.

3)He's a team player.

4)He's exciting to watch with his stolen bases and diving catches.

5)He's nice to the fans and he's been very nice to me the several times I've met him.

6)And he is quite funny. You should check out his Livevideo channel (link on my left sidebar).

So he puts hand lotion in his hair! Big Deal, it's not like he's peddling crack to kids.

This conversation is hillarious!!!

"Maybe you ought to give Byrnesie some hints. He's never had a 6-RBI day."

Actually he has. July 4, 2004. 2 3-run homeruns against San Francisco. I still have the tape.

OK. I thought his best day was 5. I think that was the day he hit for the cycle.

Hey Kellia, Here are some things you might not know about Eric Byrnes:
1. His "great plays" are really False Hustle

2. He does not wear underwear!! It's true just look it up in SI

The claim of False Hustle is garbage spread by guys who don't want to risk busting a fingernail to "lay out."

And as for the no underwear--and yes I knew about that SI article--...so what?

I GIVE UP!!!
If you like Eric Byrnes its your problem...

All my "problems" should be like this one!

I agree with Toby Jeffers. Eric Byrnes is a wierdo

slowindafire,

So what?

So...you do admit he's a weirdo after all.

You know I also really think that eric byrnes is a strange guy.

toby,

I don't think he's a weirdo, which as you use the term is pejorative. I do think he's quirky in a fun way. Putting hand lotion in his hair or going commando really harms no one and does not affect his play. So again...so what? Are you so uptight that you can't stand any non-conformity?

hubabaloo,

Gee, I wanted more commenters and poll voters and I guess I finally got some, but after writing this blog for over two years, I didn't think the thing that most people would want to register an opinion on is whether or not Eric Byrnes is a "weirdo."

How about voting in my poll on how you think Randy Johnson will fare next season?

Players should be remebered for the good things they did not the goofy things. Take some player who started an organization like Derek Lee who founded Project 3000 to help children with LCA, he will be remebered for that long after he retires, not for doing something strange like Eric Byrnes.

Derek Lee's efforts are laudable. I was trying to arrange for interviews on that subject when I took ill this summer. Perhaps I will get time to go back to it later. But ballplayers should be remembered for what they do on the field--Lee certainly qualifies there--and so does Byrnes.Don't you have anything better to do than to pick on Byrnesie's idiosyncracies?
