I have had my poll up for a week, and the stats say that it's had 302 visits, but only 7 people have voted! Surely more than 7 people out of 302 have an opinion on the question "Should the D'Backs trade Byrnes?"
Right now, I have 4 No and 3 Yes.
And while you are at it, Maddog wants to know if you think Derek Jeter is this year's MVP.
K.R.

MVP? Already? It's only May! Derek Jeter could break his arm tomorrow and be out for the season. No MVP talk till August/September.

Agreed. But that's what he's got on his poll. Loved your account of your trip to Fenway.

Wow! Amazing hustle by Byrnes leading off the game making a single into a double!

So I heard. I was getting ready for work and I just missed it. But by the time I got the computer going, there he was on 2nd! And the announcers were talking about how he didn't hesitiate for a second, but was thinking two bagger all the way. I think that's his 8th now! Too bad they didn't score him. He pulled into third a little awkwardly on that error and I saw him bending over and rubbing his leg a little.
Then he got HBP twice today. Again, I did not actually see it. I am at work and have to make due with the Gameday screen because there is something wrong with this computer. I hope he's OK. I guess I will try to watch the archive tomorrow. But any feedback you have would be appreciated.

The Diamondbacks lost in a battle all the way to the end 9-8. Byrnes was pegged by a fastball kright in the back on the first HBP the next skimmed his shirt. When he was on 1st base the announcers stated that he could score from first on a single because of how fast he hustles.
"Good things happen when you start Eric Byrnes. It's just like if you don't swing you can't hit the ball. ANYTHING can happen when you start Eric Byrnes, he will do everything in his power to make his team win." Chad L.
I don't know if thats a good quote but I was in a rush typing it couldn't think of anything else bu then again I WAS in a rush.

I edited my quote to make it better cause it was a little confusing.
"ANYTHING can happen when you start Eric Byrnes, he will do everything in his power to make his team win." Chad L.

My favorite center fielder that has ever been on the Dbacks is my favorite player also... Steve Finley!

The planned release date for the book is June 10. Be aware that it's poetry. There are a few baseball-related poems in it, but by and large it's not about baseball.
I know I am late with my big Eric Byrnes article, into which I shall incorporate your quote. That's due to a combo of factors including my watching some recent developments with the team I think he should go to next. :=/
Steve Finley is getting some starts in SF due to the injury to Mo Alou.
I just saw the archive of Byrnsie's double. Too bad the D'Backs wasted it. As I said in a recent post, he is really not doing well in his first PA's of games. Today he started the game with a double and they could not get him in with none out. Not good.
Byrnesie caught that left fielder napping! This is why he's so much fun to watch. He never nonchalants.
I was so unhapy he got HPB the second time. He's overdue for a homer and that would have been a nice place to hit one.
So now he's got a 7-game hitting streak that includes 5 doubles. I like this. But he needs some multi-hit days and a few homers to up his RBI total. Chad Tracy has cooled off of late.
