R.I.P. “Mad Dog”
Dave "Mad Dog" Cadwell, the Irish Yankees fan who explained soccer to the MLBlogosphere, died of a heart attack on January 13. His fiancee, Michele Brickner, is creating a memorial site that will be completed by March 13. The address is

Dave was my ‘Yankee friend’ here. He used to send me the sweetest emails and leave nice comments on the blog.
He was a sweet guy and I’ll miss him.
You’re welcome. I’m shocked. I didn’t talk to him as much as you did, but he was also on my list and I read his soccer blog. He explianed some thing about that game to me.
I didn’t know he had kids. Michele must be devastated. He made it pretty clear to all of us that he adored her.
